Leopard geckos are native to the deserts of Asia, particularly in Pakistan and parts of northern India. This species of gecko has become very popular in the pet trade. Leopard geckos differ from most other geckos in that they lack adhesive lamellae preventing them from being able to walk up vertical surfaces. They also differ from most geckos because they have outer ears and eyelids.
