Winter Story & Craft

January 27, Saturday, 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm  STORYTELLING & WINTER CRAFTA Sarett naturalist will read A Walk Through the Winter Woods by Michael Glenn Monroe. Afterwards kids will have an opportunity to complete a winter craft for $1.00. For ages 4-6 year olds, but adults are welcome too. Please call to register. Admission fee of $3/adult applies for nonmembers.

Gourmet Glide!

February 3, Saturday, 6:00 pm  GOURMET GLIDE! The evening sky and torches will guide us as we glide on our skis (or walk if there is no snow) over Sarett’s trails. Stop to enjoy a fire & appetizers. The trail will end back at the Nature Center where homemade soups, coffee and tea will be waiting.  Please bring a dish to pass, your own table service, and favorite beverage. Please join us for this unique ski and dining experience.  Call to register. Fee—Members $5/adult, $2/child; nonmembers $8.00/adult, children 12 & under/$3.00.
  • Ski rental available.
  • Bring a head light (if you have one).

Cross-country Ski at Ross Coastal Marsh Preserve

February 11, Sunday, 1:00 pm  CROSS COUNTRY SKI AT ROSS PRESERVE.  Join Sarett naturalists for a skiing adventure at the Ross Preserve. A popular place to cross country ski with rolling dune hills through pines and beech trees. Call to reserve your spot in a Sarett van. $8/member, $10/non member.  Equipment rentals available.

Nature Crafts!

February 17, Saturday, 1:00 pm NATURE CRAFTS. Today naturalists will have nature crafts available for children ages 7-12 years old to create (adults are welcome too)! Craft costs can range from $1.00-$2.00. Please call to register at 269-927-4832.

Wildlife Program with Nelson the Animal Guy

February 18, Sunday, 2:00 & 3:30 pm WILDLIFE SAFARI WITH NELSON THE ANIMAL GUY. Get close and personal with a variety of exotic creatures. Among the possible guests are an alligator, African serval, kangaroo, toucan, barn owl, fennic fox, tarantula, sugar glider, Siberian lynx, African spring haas  and more.  Mark your calendar to attend one of these educational and entertaining programs. Great fun for the whole family. $3/adult, $2/child. Additional admission fees apply for nonmembers

Bluebird Presentation & Bluebird House Making

February 25, Sunday, 2:00 pm BLUEBIRDS. Spring is just around the corner and it is already time to start thinking about the returning bluebirds. Join us today to learn what it takes to provide successful bluebird habitat, then build your own bluebird house to take home. This is a great family project! Fees:
  • Bluebird Presentation—members free; nonmembers $3/person, $1/child,
  • Building a Bluebird House—members $18/house; nonmembers $20/house.

Trivia Night

Round up ten of your friends and join us for our Team Trivia Night on March 10th. Doors open at 6:00 pm and trivia begins at 7:00 pm. $100 per table of 10 or join a table for $10/person. We will have 10 rounds of 10 questions each of general knowledge trivia. The winning team receives a cash prize of $200. Please bring snacks to share with your teammates. Chicago Flower & Garden Trip

March 15, Thursday, 9:00 am CHICAGO FLOWER & GARDEN TRIP. Get into spring with a bus trip to The Garfield Conservatory, Hausermann’s Orchids and the 2018 Chicago Flower & Garden Show.
  • The show features a variety of gardens, ponds, gardening seminars, vendor’s market and cooking demonstrations.
  • Cost is $65/member; $70/nonmember. This price includes round trip bus transportation, admission, and driver tip.
  • We will leave from Sarett at 9:00 am and return around 6:30 pm.
  • You must call to register.

Lake Milton Raptor Center Presentations
