Wildlife Safari with Nelson the Animal Guy

Wildlife Safari with Nelson the Animal Guy - February 23—Saturday - 11:00 am, 1:00 pm & 3:00 pm Please contact us as soon as possible to have a chance to get close and personal with a variety of exotic creatures. Among the possible guests are an alligator, African serval, kangaroo, toucan, barn owl, fennic fox, tarantula, sugar glider, Siberian lynx, African spring haas and more. Mark your calendar to attend one of these educational and entertaining programs. Trivia Night!

TRIVIA NIGHT - March 2, Saturday, 7:00 pm-Join us for an evening of “FUNraising” and test your knowledge on a variety of categories. $200 Prize to 1st place team. Doors open at 6:00 pm; Trivia begins at 7:00 pm. Buy a table for 10 people at $100.00 or join a table for $10/person. Bring snacks to share with your tablemates. MAPLE SUGAR MAGIC - March 3, Sunday, 2:00 pm—Welcome early spring with a “how to” class on maple sugaring. Enjoy a talk and a stroll through the woods to learn how maple syrup is made. Learn to identify maple trees, how to tap and collect the sap and how to turn that sap into delicious amber syrup. We’ll taste the sap, syrup and candy! Great program for the whole family. Members and kids free. Non-member adults $5 (includes general admission fee). Maple treats will also be available for sale.

Junior Naturalist Club

JUNIOR NATURALIST CLUB - March 9, Saturday, 10:00 am to Noon—A special club for kids ages 7-12 who are really interested in nature. Find out what it means to be a Sarett naturalist. We’ll learn about the animals of Sarett, do projects, and have lots of fun as we learn about nature. We will also meet April 13 & May 4. Fee $6/student/class. Kiss My Grass Soapmaking Class

KISS MY GRASS SOAPMAKING CLASS - March 23, Saturday, 2:00-4:00 pm—This Make and Take Class includes: a soap mold, 10 bars of soap, a soap recipe, and class instruction (value is over $70 for product alone). You choose your scent and color. We bring a good variety to choose from. $65 per person, sorry no class sharing. Must be at least 16 years old. Class is limited to the first 20 pre-paid registered guests; no walk-ins as we need an exact head count for supplies. Please wear comfortable closed toe shoes and long sleeve old shirt, an apron, and protective eye wear. Please call 269-927-4832 to register. Registration open until March 15!

Spring Birding Bunch

SARETT’S SPRING BIRDING BUNCH BEGINS - March 23, Saturday, 8:00 am—Welcome back the spring migrants with Sarett’s annual Saturday morning Birding Bunch. These gatherings are designed for birders of all levels. Each session will start at the nature center and then travel to where the birds are the best. Bring your binoculars and a desire to learn about and see birds. We will meet  March 23, 30, April 13, 20, 27 May 4,11, 25, & June 8. Member $50 for all sessions or $6/session. Lake Milton Raptor Experience

LAKE MILTON RAPTOR EXPERIENCE - March 30, Saturday, 1:00 & 3:00 pm—Experience an up-close learning adventure with live raptors from the Lake Milton Raptor Education Center. Aimee Pico will bring several live birds to demonstrate raptor characteristics, adaptations, conservation trends, predator-prey relationships, and our local birds of prey. You won’t want to miss this chance to see these magnificent birds eye-to-eye. Great program for the whole family. Limited seating on a first-come, first-served basis. Volunteers needed for Spring Stampede

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! - April 6, Saturday, 8:00 am—Volunteers are needed to help with the Spring Stampede before, during, and after the race. Jobs vary on the day of the race. We also need people to bake or bring in food for hungry racers at the finish.
