Kayak the St. Joseph River

July 28, Sunday, 1:00 PM - Meet at the Jasper Dairy boat launch at 1:00 PM. A naturalist will shuttle you to Berrien Springs to put in at the river. Please bring water and a sack lunch. We will provide a kayak, personal flotation device, and a paddle. For adults only. Members=$15, Non-members=$20. Please call to register 269-927-4832.

Voyageur Canoe at Fort St. Joseph Days in Niles, MI

Singing Insects

August 10, Saturday, 8:00 PM-10:00 PM Carl Strang has been studying singing insects for 15 years. Join us for this evening program as Carl discusses the different kinds of singing insects found around lower Lake Michigan. Carl will also take us on a hike through the woods and prairie area in search of some of these natural singers. Member adults & kids=FREE, Non-member adults=$5 (includes general admission fee). Music & Butterflies

August 11, Sunday, 1:00-3:00 PM Join us for a special afternoon in the butterfly house.  Harpist Meg Rodgers will be in the butterfly house playing a variety of music from pop to classical, from Gershwin to Disney. (Meg has even been persuaded to take requests). Come sit awhile, watch the butterflies and relax to the peaceful harp music. Regular Butterfly house admission fees apply. Sarett members $2/adults, $1/child, non-members $6/adult and $2/child.

Ron Dudek’s Carnivorous Plants Program

August 25, Sunday, 2:00 PM What do Venus Fly Traps, Pitcher Plants, and Sundews all have in common? Join Ron Dudek as he discusses his experiences in growing these interesting plants. Ron has also written a book on carnivorous plants. Sarett will have copies available for purchase and Ron would be happy to sign it for you. Sarett members $3/adult, $2/child, Non-members $7/adult (includes general entrance fee), $3.00/child.
