Michigan Tree Program

October 8, Sunday, 2:00 pm  MICHIGAN TREES.  Identify some of the native trees of Michigan on a walk with a naturalist.  Learn identification tricks for leaves, bark and buds.  Fee is $2/person plus admission.

Country Fair!

October 14, Saturday, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm  SARETT’S ANNUAL COUNTRY FAIR.  Join us for an afternoon of fun activities for the kids, pony rides, wagon rides, Grandma’s Country Kitchen, fresh garden produce sale, collectibles sale and a huge rummage sale.  Remember, Grandma’s Country Kitchen serves brats, sloppy joes, and hot dogs for lunch.  There are always plenty of homemade desserts!  Members and friends, please make donations of jams, jellies, preserves and garden produce.  We are also asking for clean saleable rummage. Rummage  items can be dropped off during regular business hours at Sarett starting September 15.  Also, don’t forget to donate homemade baked goods for the ever popular Country Kitchen.  All proceeds benefit Sarett’s environmental education programs. Trivia Night

October 21, Saturday, 7:00 pm TRIVIA NIGHT. Join us for an evening of “FUNraising” and test your knowledge on a variety of categories. $200 Prize to 1st place team.  Doors open at 6:00 pm—Trivia  begins at 7:00 pm.  Buy a table for 10 people at $100.00 or join a table for $10/person.  Bring snacks to share with your tablemates. Cash bar for pop, water, beer and wine. Door  prizes, good fun and lots of laughs. Reservations & prepayment required.  927-4832.  Adults only. Tables are available, call for information or to reserve your places.

Explore Sarett by Golf Cart

October 22, Sunday, 1:00 pm  EXPLORE SARETT BY GOLF CART. Sarett has two golf carts that we will use to take small groups along Sarett’s trails.  A great way to see some of the far trails of Sarett without having to walk.  You must call to register as space is limited.  We will add more time slots as needed. $5/person.  927-4832

Halloween at Sarett!

October 28, Saturday,  6:30 to 8:30 pm  HALLOWEEN AT SARETT.  Younger children can start their journey along the trail anytime between 6:30 and 7:15 pm. The older, more adventurous kids can try the dark trail between 7:30 and 8:30 pm.  Volunteers and staff will be on hand to help you discover wild creatures and fun activities along the lighted trail.  Snacks and crafts will be inside. $5/person and bring a flashlight.  Call for more information.  927-4832.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Backyard Friends Program

October 29, Sunday, 3:00 pm  BACKYARD FRIENDS.  Join Sarett member and videographer Chuck Witkoske for a look at some of our area’s wildlife.  Chuck has captured amazing footage of red foxes, snowy owls, bluebirds and shorebirds.

Bird Seed Sale

November 1, Wednesday, BIRD SEED SALE BEGINS. Today begins Sarett’s annual bird seed sale for members. Shop between November 1 & December 31 and you will receive 10% off your seed and feeder purchases.  Sarett will have available black oil sunflower, mix seeds, thistle and suet cakes. So enjoy feeding the birds, save some money and help Sarett out at the same time. Thanks for being a Sarett member.

Patagonia Natural History Trip

November Ribfest Fundraiser!

November 4, Saturday, NOVEMBER RIBFEST FUNDRAISER!  Roger’s Foodland is preparing a tasty Barbecue Rib Dinner for two. Pick up for your own picnic or tailgate enjoyment.  $50/order and all proceeds benefit Sarett Nature Center environmental programs. Nature Book Sale

November 18 & 19.  NATURE BOOK SALE.  Join us for a  nature book sale this weekend.  We are asking members and friends to donate gently used nature books for this event. Books can be field guides, travel guides, informational  books, nature adventure books, children’s books, hard or soft cover. Please, no magazines. Books can be dropped off at the nature center anytime. Then join us for a great way to stock up on winter reading. Questions?  927-4832
